PRESIDENT,
HARRY GUTHRIE – Harry has been the President of Clan Guthrie-USA,
Inc. since it was founded in 1982. Harry attended the worldwide meeting
of Guthries at Guthrie Castle in 1980 and played an instrumental role
in the creation of both Friends of Guthrie Castle and Clan Guthrie.
Harry led the effort to incorporate Clan Guthrie in 1987 and served
continuously on its Board of Directors until 2003. He has participated
directly, or indirectly, in setting up the operations of all of Clan
Guthrie’s services and activities. He and his wife, Patricia,
live in Pittsfield, MA, which is located in The Berkshires of Western
Massachusetts.
VICE
PRESIDENT, DR. HERB GUTHRIE– Dr. Herb Guthrie is a retired Dentist living in Zeblon, NC. He has been serving as
Vice President of Clan Guthrie-USA, Inc. since 2005. Prior to that he was Membership Coordinator from 1995 to 2005. The primary role
of Vice President is to provide advice and counsel to the President
and to fill in as President in case of emergency.
TREASURER, CARRIE GUTHRIE-WHITLOW – Carrie Guthrie
Whitlow has been the Treasurer of Clan Guthrie-USA, Inc. since 1995.
As Treasurer, Carrie is responsible for maintaining the Clan’s
bank accounts and tracking the financial transactions of Clan Guthrie.
Carrie is a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor with a BA degree in
Psychology and MA degree in Rehabilitation Counseling. Carrie and her
husband Jerry live on a 5-acre ranch in Port Orchard, WA where they
have 3 horses, 4 dogs, and 2 cats. In addition to being Treasurer, Carrie
was responsible for coordinating the planning and execution of the very
successful Clan Guthrie trip to Scotland in 1996. (Oh yes, she is also
the daughter of Clan President – Harry Guthrie)
SECRETARY,
GLENNYS GEHRING – Glennys has been Secretary of Clan Guthrie-USA,
Inc. since 1997. She was a member of the Board of Directors for 2 terms
and participated on three of the four Clan-sponsored trips to Scotland. Glennys
also is the Games coordinator for the Highland Games held in the Seattle
area. Glennys is transitioning into retirement after being the owner/operater of a small shopping mall in Port Orchard,
WA.
MEMBERSHIP, LARRY GUTHRIE -- As Membership Coordinator, Larry is responsible for membership recruitment, providing membership information to prospective new members, and for membership retention. Larry retired from the Board of Directors in 2006 after serving one full 5-year term. He and his wife Jeanne, who serves as the Clan Travel Coordinator, live in Cedar Rapids, IA where Larry's is employed by AAA.
GENEALOGY,
LOLITA GUTHRIE – Lolita has been Genealogy Coordinator since 1997.
Lolita and her husband Mearl Guthrie, who is a retired college professor,
live in Bowling Green, OH. Lolita also writes the genealogy insert that is included in
each issue of the Clan Guthrie News. Since taking over the Genealogy Coordinator’s position, Lolita has been busy building a network of Guthrie researchers by appointing Family Representatives. She recently absorbed the responsibility of maintenance of the Guthrie genealogy database with assistance from others she has recruited for data input. As Genealogy Administrator, Lolita also maintains a close working relationship with the DNA Testing Administrator and is deeply involved in the subject
of genealogy through the Ohio Genealogical Society and other affiliations
dealing with ancestral research.
WEBMASTER LARRY JOE GUTHRIE -- Larry Joe Guthrie is responsible for technical oversight and maintenance of the Clan Guthrie Genealogy web site using TheNextGeneration Genealogy Software. In his role as Guthie Project Leader for FamilyTreeDNA, Inc. (An independent organization specializing in Genealogy DNA Testing), Larry is in a unique position to help Clan Guthrie integrate DNA results with conventional genealogy research to find new leads and to validate existing claims concerning ancestral relationships. Larry Joe is a retired History teacher. He lives in Sulphur, Oklahoma. Genealogy is his hobby and his passion.

SALES, PATTI GUTHRIE – Patti and her husband Lew live in Chalfont, PA where they own an antiques business. Patti assumed the position of Catalog Administrator
in 1993. Her position is responsible for providing merchandise that
promotes the name and traditions of the Guthrie Family/Clan: 1) In a
market where Guthrie merchandise is hard to find, and 2) At an attractive
price. Through Patti’s efforts, Guthrie merchandise is available
through mail order and on the Clan Guthrie web site.
GAMES,
MARGIE CHERRY - Margie is retired and living in El Paso, TX. She is the Games
Administrator for the Clan and has served 2 terms as a Director on the
Board. Her 1st term was to serve out the remaining 2 years of office
as successor to Blaine Guthrie. Margie plans the schedule of Games that
Clan Guthrie will participate in each year, assigns Games Coordinators
to represent Clan Guthrie at each scheduled event, and oversees distribution of Games Props and routing of the Traveling Games Kits.
NEWSLETTER EDITOR, PEGGY GUTHRIE WINK – Peggy has been responsible for the Clan Guthrie News since its first issue was created in 1982. Today she continues to coordinate the layout and publication of this quarterly newsletter, featuring articles and news of significant interest to our membership while maintaining the high standards of quality we have become accustomed to. She and her husband, Dick Wink, live on Lake of the Ozarks in Stover, Missouri.
TRAVEL, JEANNE GUTHRIE – Jeanne is the wife of Clan
Director, Larry Guthrie of Cedar Rapids, IA. Jeanne plans and customizes
the tours offered by Clan Guthrie-USA, Inc. through her personally-owned
business, GuthrieStyle Tours. Clan sponsored tours that Jeanne has organized and run include the excellent Millennium Extravaganza
Tour of Scotland in 2000 and the recently completed 2005 Tour of Scotland. Through special arrangement,
Jeanne provides discounts to Clan Guthrie members for all her other
annual tours that are listed on the Clan Guthrie web site. Jeanne also
assists in the operations of the Clan Guthrie web site by monitoring
and answering all messages received in the site’s guest book.

ADMINISTRATOR, GARY P. GUTHRIE – The Clan Guthrie web site was
designed and created by Gary in 1997 to meet the need for Clan Guthrie
to communicate with Guthries globally and to provide an Internet resource
to its membership. Gary’s background includes radio program direction
and commercial ad creation for major corporate clients. Gary has been
a member of Clan Guthrie since its early beginning and has participated
in several Board Meetings, providing valuable technical advice and recommendations.

GUTHRIE WINK (Term 2003-2008) - As Chair of the Board, Peggy coordinates
the Board’s agenda, discussions, and decisions of the Board. Peggy
and her husband, Dick Wink, live in
a lakeside home in Stover, MO where Peggy continues to manage her Kansas City located graphic arts business virtually. Peggy was the
founder of Friends of Guthrie Castle, Inc. after the worldwide meeting
of Guthries at Guthrie Castle in 1980 and played a principle role in
the creation of Clan Guthrie as a split-off of FOGC in 1982. This is
Peggy’s 1st term as a Director after sitting out for a year in
2002.
WALLACE N. GUTHRIE, JR.(Term 2005-2010) -- RADM Wallace N
Guthrie (Wally) is recently retired from the navy. Most of his sea duty
was in submarines. He was also asigned at the Pentagon as the Deputy
Director, Naval Reserve, during Operation Desert Storm (1989-1991). After
38 years in the Navy, he retired as a Rear Admiral, but continued to
work in Washington as the Superintendent, Defense Information School,
Fort Meade, MD. He and his wife Ginny have 3 children and 10 grandchildren.
They now live in St. Petersburg, FL. Wally is a recent Life Member of
Clan Guthrie and is looking forward to help guide the future of the
Clan through his position on the Board of Directors. This is Wally's 1st term as a Director.
LARRY G. GUTHRIE (Balance of term vacated by William N. Guthrie 2008-2011) - Larry retired from the Board of Directors in 2006 after serving one full 5-year term, but is now returning to the Board to serve out the remainder of the term vacated by William N. Guthrie. Larry is the Membership Coordinator for Clan Guthrie where he is responsible for membership recruitment, providing membership information to prospective new members, and for membership retention. He and his wife Jeanne, who serves as the Clan Travel Coordinator, live in Cedar Rapids, IA where Larry's has been employed by AAA Travel for 25 years.
JOHN S. GUTHRIE, JR. (Term 2007-2012) –John spent much of his career in the Active Army and the Army Reserves, retiring as a Major General. His civilian career included two years as a member of the White House Staff, with subsequent service at the US Department of Energy and The Department of Defense. Since retiring, John has held a number of leadership positions in Veteran’s Service Organizations and also flew as a Command Pilot for the Coast Guard Auxiliary and for Angel Flight, USA. He and his wife Elaine, live in Bradenton, FL. A Life Member of Clan Guthrie, this is John’s first term as a member of the Board of Directors and he looks forward to serving the membership.

LEON GUTHRIE (Term 2004-2009) – Serving his first term as Director,
Thom lives in Pratts, VA which is close to Richmond. He filled in as Membership Coordinator for a year after Dr. Herb Guthrie's retirement from that position in 2005. Thom has hosted numerous Guthrie events
in the Washington, DC and Richmond, VA areas. Thom is a retired Firefighter
and more recently retired from a dual career in the Coast
Guard as a civilian and from the Coast Guard Reserve at the rank of Lieutenant Commander
in 1996.
