How do our tours stack
up? Well, here's what other travelers have to say...
Gordon & I only traveled once with
you and that was the Scotland Guthrie Style Tour from
Aug. 1-11,1998
, which as I recall was a very special trip for all the Guthries with a visit to
the
Guthrie
Castle
.
There really wasn't anything we didn't like about the tour.
We had a comfortable motorcoach, good driver, pleasant fellow travelers
and most important, you, as the tour director who had everything well-planned
for an interesting and diversified trip. Yes,
we would recommend travel with you. We
especially appreciated our stay at Dunkeld--not having to
pack up and move out every day. We
have very special memories of the beautiful Scottish highlands.

I traveled with Jeanne to
Scotland
in August on the Guthrie Tour. The tour was very well organized.
We were able to relax and enjoy the wonderful sights of the country
without concerns. We experienced
interesting surprises and adventures along the way, all of which Jeanne handled
with ease. The bus driver was very knowledgeable and drove the bus with great
care through narrow roads. The bus
itself was comfortable with large viewing windows.
I would highly recommend Guthrie Tours for
travel plans.
Sincerely,

After traveling with Jeanne (and Larry)
on three great trips (1996, 1998 and 1999) we are really looking forward to our
4th, come August 2003. Jeannie knows all the "off the beaten tourist
track" places very well and she picks the best for her trips.
I will never forget the hotel in Dunkeld
Scotland
in August 1998 - a wonderful place to come home to for several nights after
days of sightseeing in the area . I
could go on for hours recalling memorable experiences and places.
When traveling with the Guthries you become a part of the communities you visit
, i.e., you don't feel like a "touristy outsider".
P.S. She chooses great coach drivers
too.

Hi
Jeanne --
Just a quick note to say--
Dick and I have been to
Scotland
5 times and in an effort to constantly upgrade each area of the Clan
activities, the Board selected you to manage. The tour that we were on that you
were in charge of -- the Clan Guthrie 2000 Tour was by far the best managed,
most cohesive and most responsible. When things changed, as they almost always
do, you were a step ahead of the next move. Always in control and knew what was
going on in the next stop.
Thanks for a wonderful tour for myself and our granddaughter, Stephanie. We're
hoping to join your next Clan tour with our twin granddaughters, Jessica and
Jennifer.

In August of 2000, my wife, Patti
Guthrie, and I went on the Clan Guthrie Scotland 2000 Tour.
Patti, now a member of the Board of Directors and in charge of catalog
sales, had wanted to take such a trip for several years.
When we met our fellow travelers and
tour director, we suddenly felt like we were among family!
Jeanne was in complete control, but not demanding.
It was very obvious she knew her business.
She already had been to every place we visited.
Therefore, we were told the history, high points, and importance of each
stop. Patti and I enjoyed the
freedom we had to explore on our own, while still being "watched
over".
The boat trip to the isle of
Mull
and visit to
Torosay
Castle
was a "tour" in itself! We
saw
Douart
Castle
even before it "officially" was open to the public - very special
indeed. For Patti, seeing Guthrie
Kirk and being on the
Guthrie
Castle
grounds was a
high point
, even though we were not allowed inside.
Jeanne made certain we sampled authentic Scottish food, including an
unforgettable dinner at
Glaumis
Castle
. Her knowledge of
Scotland
and its people not only enriched our tour immeasurably, it made us wish we
could go on EVERY tour she leads!

Jeanne,
I was on the Guthrie Family tour during
the summer of 2000. The most impressive part of the trip was your ability to
arrange stopovers of interest to the Guthries, at
Guthrie
Castle
, Torosay, and Gagie among them. The visit and dinner at
Glamis
Castle
was spectacular--a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

What I liked best about the Shamrock and
Thistle tour in June 2001 was visiting the more rural areas in
Scotland
and
Ireland
. Let me mention a few: the source
of the River Tweed was fascinating to see, as was that whole area.
The Glens of Antrim in
Northern Ireland
were beautiful. Giant Causeway and
the
Carrick
Rope
Bridge
were wonderful and a lot of fun, (though the Causeway visit a bit rushed.)
The meals and accommodations were great
everywhere we went.
Back in
Scotland
I loved our day touring towns but cannot recall the names now; the one where
Robert the Bruce's heart is,
Melrose
I think? and the one where I walked up the hill to see what looked like a
castle but is now a museum of an old prison and was fascinating to see.
(aside comment: I think the driver could have given us some tips on what
to do in that town. I walked up the
hill and found that place on my own.............it was great!
Maybe he told us about it but if he did I don't recall..............)
Staying in Portrush, the sea coast town
in
N. Ireland
was charming and the hotel and meals exraordinary.
The girls at the front desk let me use their pc to do email which was
very sweet of them, and
I enjoyed walking around the town, doing a little shopping, going to the
pubs at night.
Stopping for scones and cream as we
headed to the coast to catch the ferry from
Scotland
to
N Ireland
was fun. All of
Scotland
simply wetted my appetite for much, much more!
Thus, my return to tour with you in July 2003. Those were the trip
highlights for me.
